One year into this brand and I’m bouncing between gratitude and “is this real?” I’m a full-on Penn State nut. My closet is blue, our house is blue, and my husband just bought a blue car. It’s a thing, and I know some of you are nodding along. That obsession is why I couldn’t ignore how limited our Penn State clothing options were. Three years ago, I decided to do something about it, and the Universe provided me with the most incredible business partner—who also became one of my closest friends. Abby now shouts “We Are” with the best of them, even though she never went to Penn State. It has not been easy, but like any new venture, learning fast from the missteps has made all the difference.
As we approach this one-year mark, we have a lot to celebrate. Harpers put our collection on the racks in the Varsity Club and the Nittany Lion Inn. We hosted a fashion show where Penn State athletes modeled our designs. The boxes finally moved out of my garage and into a fulfillment partner’s space just 40 miles away. And seeing ABIGAIL COLLINS featured in The Penn Stater—that one will stay with me.
One of my favorite memories? Taking Abby to her first Penn State game. She looked around and said, “I’ve never been so close to so many people in one place,” and it still makes me laugh.
But the best part hasn’t been the press or the milestones. It’s been this: watching a community of Penn State women come together—not just around clothes, but around connection, pride, and style that fits real life. We started Abigail Collins to fill a gap in women’s collegiate apparel and to help Lady Lions connect with fellow alums. Seeing that come to life means everything to us.
As we head into year two, there’s plenty to be excited about. Our Fall 2025 collection drops soon with pieces for game day, the office, and the boardroom. We’ll be at Harpers for a Homecoming pop-up. And after two seasons here at Penn State, we’re setting our sights higher: ten more schools by Fall 2026.
We can’t thank you enough for your support. Keep reaching out, say hello, and tell us what you want to see next. Together, we’ll keep growing this community of Lady Lions.
WE ARE,
Katie Collins
