What started as a joke about sports (a cheeky one, I thought) evolved into something much more meaningful as this brand became a reality—for me personally, and for the Abigail Collins brand as a whole.
As some of you know, I didn’t have any real connection to Penn State until recently, and I’ve never considered myself a huge fan of college or professional sports. But I do love a good dip—and even more than that, I love a good hang.
The GO TEAM hat is for those people. The ones who show up because they want to be there for you. The ones who cheer you on not because they know the stats or understand the playbook or bleed blue, but because they care about you. It’s for the people who want to see you thrive, even if they have no idea what it means to “set the pick and move.” (I totally know what that means now, by the way.)
Today's hero image is one I took on the third leg of my red eye across the country to make it to our spring launch event at harpers. This hat, this phrase, is more than just a joke, it's about support. It's about inside jokes, shared snacks, and being the person in the stands—or at the dive bar, or across the country—who shows up just to show up. For love, for friendship, for community.
It feels beautifully serendipitous to be writing this after spending two days with TFL in State College and just days before PSU’s graduation ceremonies kick off. It was a delightfully strong reminder of how much meaning that little phrase GO TEAM holds—and how it’s an integral part of who I am.
Being in the room with all those coaches and athletes, listening to these amazing women speak, hearing them encourage one another—and watching them have fun with each other—helped me remember just how deeply the GO TEAM mentality lives in me, even when (or maybe especially when) things are hard. From the beginning, Katie and I have said that this brand is more than just high-quality clothing. It’s about building community, fostering connections, and creating opportunities. And we hope to continually prove this.
The GO TEAM hat is a symbol of that. A reminder that someone’s in your corner. That you’ve got someone’s back—and they’ve got yours. That we're in this together, and we didn’t get here alone.
Whether you’re sprinting across the finish line, dragging yourself to the end, or high-fiving a graduate who’s worked so hard these past few years—you made it. You showed up for yourselves, for your teammates, for your friends and classmates. You kept going. And now you’re stepping into what’s next, whatever that may be.
Here’s to showing up, lifting each other up, and stepping into what’s next with heart and humor. GO TEAM. I'm so proud of you.
